Combat Dry Skin this Winter

Winter throughout most of South Africa and especially the Highveld, can be torturous on your skin as the dry and cold air causes your skin to become increasingly dry, irritated, and itchy.
Taking care of your skin is not only about adding an extra layer of moisturizer but changing your daily routine.

Tips for healthy looking skin this Winter:

  • Drink plenty of water:

Sipping water throughout the day will help keep you hydrated and assist your skin in maintaining its moisture levels. Indulging in warm Winter teas will also keep you warm, healthy, and hydrated.

  • Limiting your shower time & temperature:

Warm showers or long bubble baths can be very relaxing and cozy during Winter, but a BIG NO. Extremely hot water causes your skin to dehydrate and strips away your body’s natural oils. Keep your showers or baths to a maximum of 10minutes.

  • Gentle Exfoliation:

Exfoliating your skin during Winter might not sound like the best idea when your skin is already red and irritated, but gentle exfoliation will not only assist in removing all the dead cells, but regenerate new ones.

  • Moisturize frequently:

It is important to maintain healthy looking skin by moisturizing after washing. It is important to ensure that the lotions you use hold ingredients that are beneficial to your skin.

Eden Perfumes have the perfect scented lotions that will soothe, protect and nourish dry Winter skin and keep your skin rejuvenated and soft all season long.

Ingredients and benefits of our lotions:

  • Lanolin

Lanolin can soften and relieve dry, painful, and cracked skin by creating a layer over the skin, which locks in existing moisture as well as absorbing additional moisture from surrounding air. Dry skin, for example, is caused by the lack of lipids in the skin, which allows moisture to escape, Lanolin fills in those gaps, preventing water (moisture) escaping from the skin.

  • Aloe Ferox

This home-grown miracle plant provides many benefits in the beauty and physical health industry worldwide. It has healing, detoxifying, anti-inflammatory, anti-bacterial, anti-viral and anti-parasitic properties. It is also hydrates, nourishes and rejuvenates skin and contains powerful anti-oxidant properties.

  • Shea Butter

Shea Butter is rich in oils, which explains why it is such an excellent emollient and skin moisturizing agent. It also has anti-inflammatory properties and antioxidants that can help reduce inflammatory skin diseases. It contains vitamins A and E, which keeps the skin in optimal health. Vitamin E also soothes dry skin and improves the skin’s elasticity, making this butter a good anti-ageing agent.

  • Perfume
